Aujourd’hui, nous visitons la ville de Hampton. En avant-midi, on entre au Space and Aviation Museum, avec l’idée d’aller visiter l’exposition. On se ravise, bien qu’il semble y avoir des avions qui ont marqué l’histoire, le contenu semble orienté pour les jeunes. On se paye plutôt un petit resto mexicain.

Après le diner, on continu à explorer la ville. À l’autre bout de la ville, on rencontre Jeanne de J-PSA, qui est à la recherche de la buanderie dans laquelle se trouve son mari. On se joint à elle pour l’aider dans ses recherches. Son GPS lui indique un endroit qui se trouve en plein milieu d’un terrain vague, ça doit faire au moins 10 ans que cette buanderie a été ramenée au sol. On finit par avoir de l’aide d’un passant qui nous dirige au bon endroit. Au même moment, elle reçoit un appel pour lui dire que le lavage est terminé et que tout est de retour au bateau.

En soirée, on est invité à un 5 à 7 organisé par Kate, la préposée de la marina municipale. Elle nous invite à la Bodega, première consommation gratuite, après, 4$ le verre de vin ou 10$ pour une bonne bouteille de vin. On passe une soirée extraordinaire à jaser avec d’autres plaisanciers qui descendent vers le sud. On regrette seulement que la soirée soit si rapidement terminée.

Today, we are visit Hampton. In the morning, we go into the Space and Aviation Museum, with the intention of visiting the exposition. We change our minds after going in, apparently there are some amazing planes in there, but the content seems to be oriented for kids. We go for Mexican food instead.

After lunch, we go for a walk around town. At the far end of the town, we encounter Jeanne from J-PSA, who’s desperately looking for the Laundromat in which her husband is. We join her in her search. Her GPS takes us right in the middle of an empty field; if there was a Laundromat here, it’s long gone. We finally get the good directions from someone walking by. At the same moment, she gets a call on the VHF, the laundry is done and everything is already back on the boat.

In the evening, we are invited to a 5 to 7 organized by Kate, the municipal marina clerk. She invited everybody to the Bodega, first drink on her, 4$ for a glass of wine or 10$ for a good bottle of wine after. We have an extraordinary evening, and we meet very interesting people. Too bad time flies so fast.
