Aujourd’hui, on va au Boat Show! On prend la journée pour faire le tour des stands et des voiliers. Il y a vraiment de quoi faire rêver au boat show d’Annapolis, ça vaut vraiment la peine de faire les 10 heures de route si vous magasinez un voilier, oubliez le salon du bateau de Montréal. On rencontre plusieurs représentants(es) québécois fort sympathiques. Tout cela par une journée magnifique. Aucun nuage et une température oscillant aux environs de 30°C.
On profite aussi de l’occasion pour faire quelques achats à très bon prix. Bottes de pluie, chariot pour l’épicerie, gaffes et surtout un super BBQ pour seulement 49.99$. J’oubliais, en matinée, nous avons fait un arrêt chez Weems & Plath (le premier d’une série d’arrêts, notre magasin préféré et de loin à Annapolis). J’y aie trouvé un poids loupe pour tenir les cartes, seulement 8$ au lieu de 45$ (j’en rachèterai 2 autres demain, un modèle température et une boussole pour seulement 4$ chaque, 90% de rabais !) et une pointe sèche de 8 pouces qu’on peut opérer à une seule main pour seulement 10$ (un vrai 75% de rabais). Mon père se trouve une superbe lampe à l’huile de très bonne qualité pour presque rien. Elle nous servira pour éclairer la table le soir ou comme éclairage extérieur dans le cockpit le soir.

Today, we go to the Boat Show! We take the entire day to have a look at the stands and to look at some sailboats more in details. There really is some dream material at Annapolis Boat Show, it’s really worth the 10 hour drive if you are looking to buy a sailboat, forget about Montreal Boat Show. We encounter a few very nice salesman(woman) from Quebec. All this taking place under a cloudless sky with temperature around 30°C, what more could we ask.
We use the occasion to buy some equipment at very good prices. Rubber boots, grocery cart, gaffs AND a very nice BBQ for only 49.99$. I was about to forget, in the morning, we did a little stop at Weems & Plath (the first on many stops, our favorite store by far in Annapolis). I bought a chart brass chart weight/magnifier for only 8$ instead of the regular 45$ (I will buy two more of these tomorrow, one with a thermometer and one with a compass, for only 4$ each, nothing better than a 90% rebate) and a 8 inch one hand divider for 10$ (a real 75% rebate). My dad found a superb oil lamp of very good fabrication for little dollars. We will use it to light the table in the evening or as our primary lighting source outside in the cockpit.
