Nous quittons finalement Annapolis, les bateaux moteurs qui arrivent pour le Power Boat Show nous font fuir. Le vent, pour le peu qu’il y en a, nous fait face. Par contre, la température est fantastique.
Nous faisons route vers notre prochain arrêt, Solomons Island. Le bateau se conduit vraiment mieux depuis que nous avons resserré le cadran de la barre à roue, le cap est beaucoup plus facile à tenir. On peut le laisser aller pendant plusieurs minutes sans avoir à faire d’ajustement.
On arrive dans Back Creek vers 15h00, l’endroit est splendide. On s’ancre à côté de ceux qui gèrent le site ActiveCaptain.com, des gens fort sympathiques. J’encourage tous les plaisanciers qui naviguent dans les eaux américaines à consulter le site ActiveCaptain.com, c’est une vraie mine d’or (je n’ai aucun intérêt commercial dans ce site).
On termine la journée en trouvant une nouvelle ligne à essence pour notre hors-bord au West Marine qui est à deux pas et en faisant une petite épicerie.
On tient à souligner que ça fait officiellement 1 mois depuis notre départ, et jusqu’à présent, nous sommes toujours emballés par l’expérience.

We finally departure from Annapolis, scared by the power boats coming in for the Power Boat Show. The wind, for the little there is, is aiming straight at us. On the other hand, the weather is fantastic.
We are now heading towards our next stop, Solomons Island. The boat is a lot easier to handle since we tighten the steering mechanism. We can actually lock the wheel and watch it go for several minutes without doing any adjustment.
We arrive in Back Creek at around 3pm, the area is splendid. We anchor just beside the people who manage ActiveCaptain.com, some very nice people. I urge all boaters who travel the US waters to go have a look at ActiveCaptain.com, it’s a real gold mine (I have no commercial interest in this site).
We end the day with a little hop to the nearest West Marine where we get a new fuel line for our outboard and with some last minute grocery shopping.
We want to mention that it has officially been a month since we left Montreal, and so far, we are thrilled by the adventure.
