Aujourd’hui nous avons parcouru les 23 miles nautiques qui nous séparaient de la ville de NY. Peu après avoir franchi le pont George Washington, nous avons été interpelés par la Coast Guard pour une inspection de routine. Cela s’est très bien déroulé, les officiers étaient très sympathiques.
À la marina, il n’y a aucun mouillage de libre. On doit donc s’ancrer complètement au nord, soit à environ 15 minutes de la marina en dinghy. Il nous en coûte tout de même 25$ par nuit pour être à cet endroit, au lieu des 30$ que ça nous aurait coûter être au mouillage à 2 minutes de la marina. C’est un peu frustrant, mais nous n’avons pas le choix, la rive n’est accessible que de la marina.
On passe l’après-midi et la soirée à explorer la ville de NY à pied. On a eu le temps de faire Broadway, la 7e avenue, vu Wall Street, Ground Zero, Time Square, China Town et surtout la petite Italie qui était en fête. Demain, Central Park et l’épicerie.

Today, we crossed the last 23 nm that were between us and and the city of NY. Just after crossing the George Washington bridge, we are stopped by the Coast Guard for a routine inspection. It goes very well, the officers were very friendly.
At the marina, there are no more mooring left. We have no other choice but to anchor completely North of the mooring field. That is almost 15 minutes away by dinghy. They still charge us 25$ a night to be anchored there instead of the 30$ it would cost us at a mooring 2 minutes away from the marina. It’s a little frustrating, but we have no other choice since the marina is the only access to the city.
We spend the afternoon exploring the city by foot. We had enough time to walk down Broadway, the 7th avenue, to see Wall Street, Ground Zero, Time Square, China Town and last but none the least, Little Italy that was in the middle of San Gennaro festival. Tomorrow, Central Park and grocery shopping.
